Toothpaste Costume

Time: 30 - 45 minutes

Effort: Quick and easy - no sewing required

Materials:

  • White turtleneck
  • White pants or tights
  • White standard pillowcase
  • Small white pleated lampshade
  • T-shirt transfer paper, fabric paints and brushes, or felt
  • Thin elastic for chin strap
  • Hot glue gun
  • Scissors
  • Face paint (optional)
  • Huge blow-up toothbrush (optional)

Instructions: Slit the seam on the end of the pillowcase for the person's head to fit through, and slit openings on each side of the pillowcase for his arms. If you have a scanner, scan the logo from a tube of toothpaste and reverse to print on the T-shirt transfer paper. Follow the instructions for applying the transfer to the fabric. If a scanner's not available, use fabric paint to paint the logo on the pillowcase or cut out and glue on felt letters. Pad the inside of the lampshade to make it a comfortable fit on the person's head and attached a small elastic for a chinstrap.

Other Details: Paint the person's face to match the brand of toothpaste: For AquaFresh, paint stripes. For Crest Sparkle, use blue glitter paint. And carry a huge blow-up toothbrush!
