Dog Costume

Time: 15 minutes

Effort: Quick and easy – no sewing required

Materials: (All these items must be in the same color, preferably brown.)

  • Turtleneck
  • Sweatpants
  • Mittens
  • Socks (five)
  • Snow hat
  • Safety pins (three)
  • Collar, leash and tag (optional for older kids)
  • Face paint (optional)

Instructions: First, dress your child in the pants, turtleneck, mittens, one pair of socks, and hat. Pin the other pair of socks to the hat to form the ears. Pin the last sock to the back of the pants to make a tail.

Use the face paint to cover your child's face, or just put on spots and darken the nose.

Other details: If you choose to use the collar and leash, be careful. (Don't put them on too tight.) And remember: they're not appropriate for kids who are younger than middle-school age.
